Federal (OSHA) regulations require the blast machine be equipped with a manually operated switch that must be held in the activated position to permit machine operation.  Titan remote control systems conform to existing OSHA regulations for safety.

Remote controls are not only safety devised, they provide performance gains and significant savings in abrasive consumption.  Every effort has been made to simplify the systems offered without sacrificing safety or durability.

RFS-SERIES - TANK REMAINS PRESSURIZED

This control should be considered for frequent stop/start operations or when blaster capacity is over 4 cubic feet.

OPERATION:

Releasing the control activating switch (deadman) sends pneumatic pressure to the diaphragm chamber in the abrasive regulator causing the plunger to cut off the flow of media.  At the same moment the inlet valve is closed to the compressed air supply holding the tank under pressure and ready for immediate start.  Because of the pressure retention, start up is much faster and air usage is conserved.  Restart requires only activation of the (deadman) control switch which causes the abrasive valve to open simultaneously with the inlet air valve.  The tank must be manually discharged for refilling.

RFS-1    All models with pipe size through 1"
RFS-14  All models with pipe size through 1-1/2"

All pneumatic systems are complete with 55 ft. of twin control lines.

RFE - SERIES - TANK DEPRESSURIZED

This control should be considered when stopping will occur infrequently or when a hopper fill is used and machine filling is done remotely.

OPERATION:

Releasing the control activating switch (deadman) closes the inlet valve to the supply air and simultaneously opens the exhaust valve causing the tank to depressurize.  Restart is accomplished by closing the deadman switch.  This closes the exhaust valve and opens the inlet valve restoring pressure to the tank.  Blasting will stop or start within 1/2-3 seconds of switch activation in either mode depending upon tank volume and distance from the machine to the deadman.

RFE-1    All models with pipe size through 1"
RFE-14  All models with pipe size through 1-1/2"

Field installation kits for older Titan and other machines available for both systems.

TITAN ULTRASAFE PNEUMATIC DEADMAN CONTROL SWITCH

Designed for maximum worker convenience and safety, the wide comfortable handle cannot be depressed for operation until the spring loaded safety button is first depressed.  The button is easily activated by the worker yet it prevents accidental discharge if the hose is dropped.

ELECTRIC REMOTE CONTROLS

Are also available.  Operation is identical to the pneumatic systems.
