Designed
for production blast facility applications to reclaim
abrasive.
Mechanical
recovery systems convey media quickly with little wear
on reclaim components unlike vacuum recovery systems.
Harsh media such as aluminum oxide or silicon carbide
create wear on traditional vacuum recovery quickly, due
to the high vacuum velocity in which media travels.
Components
of the mechanical recovery system include: recovery
hopper inlet with perforated trash screen, bucket
elevator to convey media, rotary drum separator to
remove trash and separate media, air wash to remove
fines from re-using media, and a storage hopper for
reclaimed abrasive.
Mechanical
recovery system can be mounted either above ground or
recessed in a pit floor design to sweep material to
inlet hopper. By using recycling type abrasive,
disposal costs are reduced, expense for purchase of
expendable abrasive are eliminated, visibility during
blasting will increase, and airborne dust within the
blasting operation will be minimized.
